The Auckland Museum

The museum is a gigantic place filled with lots of interesting artefacts from back in the days when the Maoris first came to New Zealand. This museum is in The Auckland Domain. The museum has been there since 1929.The museum has some of the oldest artefacts in New Zealand. There are many amazing displays for the visitors. An exciting display is in the volcanic room. It shows the aftermath of a volcanic eruption.

The Wharenui Visit

In this photo we were taking off our shoes and about to enter the wharenui. Visitors have to take off their shoes to show manners. Apii talked to us about how the Maori people use to make the wharenui  with old wooden tools. We learn this in the Maori court section of the museum
